Tablet PCs in Russia have gained immense popularity and are being sold in high numbers. Almost 1.96 million units disappeared off the store racks from April to June of this year. For comparison, during the same period of the previous year, only 800,000 units were sold. These results have been reported in an IDC report.

The main supplier of tablet PCs in Russia is the South Korean unit of Samsung. That manufacturer had a 15-percent share of the market in terms of the total number of units sold. Apple followed right behind, with 14.4 percent of the market.
