Total can and is willing to help Russia tap its offshore oil and gas fields, Total E&P Russie Director General Jacques de Boisseson said at the 7th annual Russia Offshore conference, organized by the Energy Exchange.

He noted that the French oil major expects to receive favorable tax conditions for offshore projects.

Total is currently developing the Russian arctic Shtokman offshore gas field, the Termokarstovoye oil & gas deposit in West Siberia, the South Tambeiskoye gas condensate field on the Yamal Peninsula, and the Khvalynskoye oil & gas field in the Caspian Sea. Besides, Total has a stake in Russia’s largest independent gas producer Novatek and over 20% in its Yamal LNG project.
