R.F. Chamber of Commerce & Industry to host event June 23 to 24

The Russian Federation Chamber of Commerce and Industry has been working in the U.S. for three years, assisting Russian and American companies looking to expand trade with each other. The Russian economy is experiencing an immense boom. Here, at the Chamber, we observe the growing interest of Russian companies towards the American market. Similarly, American companies show active interest to working in the rapidly-growing Russian market. To facilitate these business interactions, the Chamber organizes a series of events.

In October 2007, “Russia-USA: Prospects of Innovational business” seminar was held in San Francisco. More than 20 Russian projects were presented at the seminar. The second seminar on innovation and business is planned for autumn 2008.

In the near future, the Chamber plans to organize a business forum “Russia-America: Trade and Investment Cooperation” that will be held from June 23 to 24 in the Bay Area of California. This unique forum will be organized together with the Russian Managers’ Association and the San Francisco Global Trade Council. A number of high-profile Russian state officials will participate in the event, including the Minister of Information Technologies and Communications of the Russian Federation Leonid Reiman, the Governor of the Primorsky krai Sergey Darkin, the Governor of the Tver Region Dmitry Zelenin, and the Governor of the Saratov region Pavel Ipatov. In addition, the Chamber expects to welcome Andrey Alpatov, head of the Federal Agency for Management of Special Economic Zones. Over 60 leading Russian businessmen will be arriving to the U.S. from Russia for the conference. Among the topics to be discussed at the forum are the key factors and priorities in U.S.-Russia economic relations, current investment climate in Russia as viewed by politicians and business people, new opportunities for cooperation in traditional industries, consumer boom in Russia and how it affects trade structure, etc.

Three parallel sessions have been planed. One, which will take place in San Jose, will bring together potential investors and CEOs of hi-tech companies to discuss cooperation issues in the development and market promotion of new technologies. The second round table, held in Oakland, will be devoted to energy efficiency and the environment. The third roundtable will take place in Sacramento and cover private/public partnerships in the implementation of infrastructure projects.

On June 23, the Third Gala Dinner of the Russian Federation Chamber of Commerce in the U.S. will bring together more than 100 Russian and American businessmen.  Mr. Ray O’Connor, President and CEO of Topcon Positioning Systems, is the keynote speaker for the evening. The topic of Ray’s speech is where Russia fits into the global strategy for technology companies.

The Russian Federation Chamber of Commerce and Industry in the U.S. is actively cooperating with many American organizations engaged in developing Russian-American economic relations, including U.S.-Russia Business Council, Mid-Atlantic Russian Business Council, Russia Chamber of Commerce of New England, American-Russian Chamber of Commerce in Atlanta, Russian-American Chamber of Commerce in Los Angeles, etc.

We are looking forward to seeing you at our events. Please do not hesitate to contact us at any time via telephone (415) 278-0977 or e-mail rfcciusa@sbcglobal.net
