ZAO Transmashholding and Wartsila Corporation have begun building a factory in Penza for the production of medium multi-rail diesel engines, as well as engines for marine transport and for stationary use.

With a building permit already granted, the plant is being located at the production site of Penzadieselmash (part of the JSC Transmashholding) and will cover an area of 25,000 sq. m. The company plans to release its first products in 2013, and it is expected that annual production will be 250-300 diesel engines a year.
