Three modernized passenger airplanes Tu-204SM will be produced in Russia in 2010, according to deputy director of the United Aircraft Company Sergei Gaplerin. Mr. Gaplerin also serves as the deputy general designer of the Tupolev bureau.
The negotiations that the Russian manufacturer conducted with its international partners suggest that the level of interest towards the new Russian plane is great.
The aircraft engine industrial unit in the city of Perm made commitments to supply a set of PA-90A2 engines by the end of 2009. Four more engines will be shipped next year.
The engines are assembled by Aviadvigatel company in conjunction with Pratt & Whitney. Pratt & Whitney is a world-known producer of aircraft engines, whose products are recognized for extreme reliability.
