On March 3, 2017, President Vladimir Putin authorized a simplified procedure for granting entry visas to foreigners coming to Russia via the port of Vladivostok. The federal law that the President signed was passed by the State Duma on February 22, 2017 and approved by the Federation Council on March 1.
One-time business, tourist, as well as humanitarian electronic visas with an eight-day period of stay may be issued to foreign citizens arriving at the Vladivostok free port. Visitors will be allowed to travel to the five Far Eastern regions with a free port regime, including the Primorsky krai, the Khabarovsk krai, the Sakhalin region, as well as Chukotka and Kamchatka.
