In 2016, the Beloretsk Iron and Steel Works (BMK), a part of Mechel, started producing 12 new types of metalwares: wire, rope, and bands for various industries.
In particular, BMK started producing steel spring wire for automobiles, as well as AiSi 304 stainless steel wire with high corrosion- and heat-resistant qualities for various industrial applications.
BMK also supplied new bands for use in machine-building, as well as in the defense sector. The bands are used to produce bomb springs.
Moreover, BMK started producing high-strength ropes with a lengthened lifetime. Bands and ropes are used for armor cables used in communication, information, defense technologies, and the oil sector.
