Gazprom and Eni to work together

On March 21, 2017, Gazprom’s head Alexey Miller and Eni’s CEO Claudio Descalzi entered into a cooperation memorandum regarding gas deliveries through pipelines from the Southern part of Russia to Europe in general and to Italy in particular. The MOU also contemplates revising Russia’s gas supply agreements with Italy. 

 

Eni is among the world’s leading energy firms working in the oil, gas, petrochemical, and engineering industries. The company also produces and markets electricity. Eni also offers oilfield services. Eni and Gazprom’s are partners on the Blue Stream project.

 

Russia’s state-owned Gazprom concern is the largest gas company in the world. The company’s authorized capital is RUB118.367 billion (USD2.1 billion). The RAS (Russian Accounting Standards) net profits of Gazprom for the first nine months of 2016 decreased two times to RUB75.42 billion (USD1.341 billion) from RUB169.754 billion (USD3.017 billion) for the corresponding period of 2015. Revenues decreased by 10.2 percent to RUB2.776 trillion (USD49.344 billion) from RUB3.09 trillion (USD54.925 billion), where they had stood during the corresponding period of the previous year.
