Russian chocolate company Ozersky Souvenir has launched a square-shaped chocolate branded Ozera using a packaging concept from Bradman Lake. The multinational company which deals in integrated packaging technology said that it had to come up with a packaging comprising hollow wall boxes with hinged lids for the new Ozersky chocolates.
Bradman Lake said that it had worked jointly with the chocolate maker’s cardboard suppliers to find the most cost effective solution. The packaging technology company designed a system comprising a mechanical carton erector. A conventional four-corner lock system with a triple head resulted in maximum output rates of 180 cartons per minute. The equipment feeds the carton blanks into the forming tool by using the direct placement method. Bradman Lake’s method delivers improved performance, and it also provides a quick and easy setup through the factory set tooling. The flat carton blanks are stacked in the hoppers, which can be refilled during machine operation.
Bradman Lake prides itself on the fact that the new erector installation helped Ozersky to save significantly on consumables.
