Russian Towers, the biggest independent infrastructure operator and owner of antenna-mast structures in the country, acquired the Moscow-based Sector Company operating some 40 towers in the Moscow, the Kirov, and the Tver regions. The towers purchased are leased to the four major telecom carriers in Russia.
Following the acquisition, Russian Towers has come to operate 2,500 towers, a figure that represents a 40-percent increase relative to the number of towers the company had during the previous year.
Russian Towers provides telecom services and investments in the building of the antenna towers of different types. The company was created in 2009 and its stakeholders include UFG Asset Management, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, Macquarie Russia & C.I.S. Infrastructure Fund, ADM Capital, the Sumitomo Corporation, and the International Finance Corporation.
