From January to October 2016, Russian steel exports totaled 35.563 million tons, up by three percent year-on-year. Exports to foreign countries (excluding the near-abroad countries) accounted for 31.127 million tons. Ferrous metals exports (apart from pig iron, ferroalloys, as well as waste and scrap metal) totaled 24.131 million tons, up by 4.6 percent year-on-year. Excluding the near-abroad countries, foreign imports of ferrous metals stood at 20.859 million tons.
Semi-finished carbon steel exports reached 12.269 million tons, a figure that was up by 3.34 percent year-on-year, with 12.042 million tons sent to the far-abroad.
Flat rolled carbon steel exports totaled 7.191 million tons, up by 10.3 percent year-on-year. With the exception of deliveries to the near-abroad countries, Russia’s exports stood at 5.962 million tons.
